Trip Down Memory Lane

Soumitra Bhowmik (1998)

My memory is still crisp:
When I got into the task,
Of choosing a college with risk,
Was not like a walk in the park.

Destiny gave me a smile
And  silently I complied,
Joined a course for four falls
After some silent mental brawls.

My fantasy faded away
After the college foray;
A herd of strangers nerdy and cool
Found some good friends in the pool.

Winter comes after a year
And the puppy turns a leo without fear,
Trying to walk on the edge of knife
Rejoice in every bit of reckless life.

Soon came a break in lifestyle flaunt
As exam-fear started to haunt,
Frantic tries to fill the cells to the brink
With a late-night read and lemon-tea drink.

As holidays came nearby
The mind bird started flying high,
Thinking of home, the paradise,
Mother’s pamper and love-fused chide.

As time fades like melting ice
Four falls passed in the blink of an eye,
When the moment for adieu was nearby
My lips didn’t know how to say goodbye.
