NITCAA President’s Message

Dear fellow members of NITCAA,

At the outset, let me thank you all for the trust reposed in me by electing me as the President of World NITCAA. Taking charge of World NITCAA is not just about holding an office; it is about carrying the pride, legacy, and shared vision of over 40,000 alumni across the globe. Every chapter is a true engine of this network, and every alumnus has a part to play in strengthening it.

In the year 2018, we saw the formation of NITCAA driven by regional chapters that were playing an active role at the time. The focus was on activating inactive chapters and forming new ones. Year after year, we witnessed the formation of new regional chapters across the globe; as of now, we have 23 strong NITCAA regional chapters—12 in India and 11 overseas.

The concept of the World NITCAA Meet (WNM) serves the purpose of bringing together batches spanning six decades, creating an opportunity to renew campus friendships and strengthen bonds to work together for the betterment of the NITCAA fraternity. In addition to activating various chapters worldwide, the WNM event brings about synergy for various NITCAA initiatives.

We should be proud that we have executed various campus infrastructure projects, such as the Creative Zone, Gazebo project, 97th Avenue, Green Amphitheatre, IMS project, and the Health Centre project. We have also supported students through initiatives like the distribution of free laptops for financially challenged students, tech team sponsorships, and chapter-level mentoring programs, to name just a few.

We all know that NITC alumni hold leadership roles in multinational corporations, head successful business enterprises, steer public policy, pioneer research, and build thriving startups. The challenge before us is to connect with our alumni worldwide and engage them in every way possible—whether through mentoring, participating in industry–institute connections, or serving as resource persons for our Alma Mater.

As a strong NITCAA fraternity, we must also strive to support the career development of our younger members. This will go a long way in helping younger alumni find value in active participation, especially as it can be challenging to capture the energy of recent graduates who expect modern, digitally driven engagement.

CREC/NITC has played a crucial role in everything we have achieved. It is time for all of us to give back to our Alma Mater in any way we can, and NITCAA is the vehicle to make that happen. We should work towards creating a strong corpus by contributing generously to the NITCAA fund, enabling us to execute crucial infrastructure projects and student welfare initiatives on campus.

As we build the strategic roadmap to take World NITCAA to the next level, our collective focus will rest on Five Key Pillars:

  1. Direct, Transparent Operational Links Between World NITCAA and Local Chapters: Co-host regional professional forums, industry roundtables, and technical panels, while encouraging common-interest groups such as golfing or bridge clubs.
  2. Mentorship & Career Acceleration (NITCAMP 2.0): Expand student mentorship into a structured Global Career Acceleration Program covering higher studies, startups, and international job markets.
  3. Innovation, Incubation & Alma Mater Building: Partner with NIT Calicut’s Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Incubation (CIEI) and Technology Business Incubator (TBI), exploring the setup of an Alumni Angel/Seed Fund to back student and alumni startups.
  4. Alumni Welfare & Benevolent Fund: Institutionalize a structured Global Benevolent Fund to support alumni families during emergencies or distress.
  5. Digital & Brand Modernization: Upgrade the global digital platform (worldnitcaa.com) to streamline chapter memberships, event registrations, and global directory searches.

The apex body provides the platform, but the local chapters provide the lifeblood. I appeal to all chapters to bring your energy, ideas, and leadership to make this vision a reality. Let us transition from an association that connects once a year to an ecosystem that adds value every single day.

Thanking you,

Nityanand Kamath

President, NITCAA
